The Ballard Field Hockey Mission
“To cultivate and support competitive field hockey at all levels of the Ballard High School Field Hockey program without compromising the core ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, courage, integrity, team spirit, and health for our players.”
Allison Masyada grew up in Louisville and played field hockey for Ballard High School. After graduating from Ballard in 2014, she went on to play Division 2 field hockey at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. While at Limestone, Allison was a part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee where she helped to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affected student-athletes' lives on campus. After graduating from Limestone, Allison has continued her passion of field hockey through coaching. She has coached the Junior Varsity team at Ballard for the last 2 seasons and is a Head coach at IFHCK field hockey club. While coaching at Ballard, Allison also works at Harshaw Trane in Louisville as an Event Specialist. She is looking forward to her first season as Head Varsity coach for Ballard High School in 2020.
Kirsty Fields played four years of varsity field hockey at Ballard and said she "loved every second of it." During her successful role on the Ballard team, Kirsty was also a part of IFHCK’s national team and NIT team. Now in her second year to coach, she first led freshman and now leads JV field hockey. Kirsty also serves as a second grade teacher at Harmony Elementary in Oldham County. In her spare time, she teaches group fitness classes at the YMCA and runs.
